Initiative: Exploring New Directions in Media, Art and Performance
Creative Technologies: Exploring New Directions in Media, Art and Performance is a seven-day intensive program that introduces students to some of the city’s most important creators working at the intersection of live performance, media, art and technology. Students visit artists’ studios, research laboratories, creative incubators, and performance venues for a firsthand look inside New York’s hotbed of innovation.
Creative Technologies focuses on the future of live performance, visual art and media and their ongoing transformation in relationship to rapidly changing information and interactive technologies. Through a series of intimate conversations with New York artists and researchers, accompanied by studio and lab visits, performances and walking tours, students discover a wide range of exciting artistic languages and new strategies for engaging audiences. Students will also have the opportunity to meet artists working in traditional forms of contemporary dance, theater and visual arts.
